Pronti & Kalmani were born and raised in Groningen in the northern part of The Netherlands. At the age of twelve, Kalmani moved in to the same neighborhood as Pronti and they immediately became friends. At first it was all about their Lego collections, but after a while they discovered that they both had a common interest in music.
After a lot of experimenting, live performances, DJ sets, parties and collaborations with other talented people, Pronti & Kalmani made their first record together in 1997. The record became an enormous club hit and introduced Pronti & Kalmani to a larger audience. DJ Jurgen, a well-known Dutch Club DJ that played their record very often, then introduced the music duo to Danski & Delmundo. They produced several remixes for Delmundo's label, Violent Records. After that, they produced two other tracks for the "Up and Down" album of Danski & Delmundo's famous dance project "The Venga Boys".
Danski & Delmundo offered them studio space in the middle of Holland, in Hilversum, next to their own studio in the famous 4045-studio complex. There they made two tracks for the new Vengaboys album, "The Greatest Hits". They had learned a lot from their "teachers" and were finally ready to produce their first worldwide hit single "Better off Alone" for DJ Jurgen. Jurgen wanted to stay the underground DJ that he was, so the group Alice Deejay was formed. Pronti & Kalmani were also the minds behind the other hit singles for the Alice Deejay album, "Back in my life", "Will I Ever" and "Celebrate Our Love". The album, "Who Needs Guitars Anyway", managed to sell over 500,000 copies in America, certifying Gold status. The same result was achieved in the United Kingdom, where the album has also gone Gold. With Alice Deejay they won many prestigious awards including the British Dance Star 2000 Award (which defeated other nominees like Jennifer Lopez and All Saints), a Dutch and Belgium TMF Award,a Mexican Pop Tunes Award and the International Dance Music Award in Miami. In 2001 Pronti & Kalmani received a BMI Award for the song "Better Off Alone" among other artists like Madonna, Sting, The Course and Samantha Mumba.
After the Alice Deejay album was finished, Pronti & Kalmani built their new "KaMo" studio next to the offices of record company Combined Forces, who released several new P & K productions like the collaboration with Solid Sessions, which resulted in the Ibiza anthem "Janeiro". In the meantime they were also mixing the dance charts together with their friend DJ Isaac every Saturday night for more than a year on Holland's biggest radio station, Radio 538. In 2002 they teamed up with fellow artists DJ Isaac, Charly Lownoise and Deepack in the Seashore Studios complex in The Hague, NL. In 2003 they founded their own record company called "Flight Music", which is also the home of their new dance project "Candee Jay". Apart from all this Pronti & Kalmani enjoy touring and spinning the wheels of steel all over the world.
